Adam Kimmel - Welder Sunglasses

Kimmel is a New-York based designer, perhaps best known for his often unusual and elaborate presentations, and his collaborations with such iconic brands as Carhartt and Supreme. Each of his collections has a unique theme, and for the SS12 collection Adam was inspired by American west coat surf wear. Taking these classic silhouettes and reinterpreting them in luxury fabrics, with garments hand-tailored in Italy, Kimmel has created a highly refined yet natural-feeling collection entitled ‘Dark Surf’.

Designed by Adam Kimmel, and produced by French luxury eyewear brand Selima Optique, These high-grade acetate sunglasses are handmade in France, and feature polarised lenses, sturdy metal hinges and the unique rounded ‘Welder’ silhouette.

Beck x Oliver Peoples - ‘Double Helix’ Sunglasses

Pulling inspiration from his personal collection of vintage (mostly 80s, of course) sunglasses, singer/songwriter/unsung fashion hero Beck has teamed up with the folks at Oliver Peoples to produce a quirky, optically mesmerizing pair of sunglasses. The “Double Helix” frames feature grey gradient lenses and are made with a custom material that appears clear face to face, with vertical pink and yellow strips coming into view while turning to the side.

Zegna Sunglasses - 2012 Collection

Although not quite as a versatile or creatively designed as Varvatos’ 2012 lineup, Italian menswear label Zegna’s eyewear collection for 2012 boasts a more subtle, laid-back kind of sophistication that’s equally appealing, with some good-looking frames that seem perfect for spring/summer.

Oscars 2012 - Eyewear from the Red Carpet
